The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web. ~Pablo Picasso

some thoughts this morning

• I am sick of spiders. I am sick of walking through their webs, all built about six feet off the ground, so that they wrap around my face, my head. I am sick of that sickening feeling. And I am sick of that spiderous tenacity, how they rebuild and rebuild and rebuild those webs every day. KINGSTON IS SPIDER CITY.

• When a client gives you a picture that you “might want to use” in a project, ALWAYS USE THAT PICTURE. Because they are not going to let go of that picture. The project could be a poster for a lemonade stand, and the client’s picture could be Hitler drinking from a kitten skull, and you are going to end up using that picture.

• The walk to work this morning was LOVELY – cool breeze, small sun, crisp air. No dead fog sousing your skin like crawling through giant pickle jar of stale farts. GO AWAY AUGUST. Already. I am more than ready for Fall.
